FINTECH DALAM PENGELOLAAN ZAKAT DAN WAKAF
FINTECH DALAM PENGELOLAAN ZAKAT DAN WAKAF
Abstract
Financial technology has changed zakat and waqf management by expanding payment access, accelerating records, supporting digital campaigns, and enabling crowdfunding and transaction traceability. This article analyzes the managerial role of fintech in zakat and waqf through library research with a descriptive-analytical approach. Relevant peer-reviewed studies were reviewed through documentation, classification, interpretation, and thematic synthesis. The findings show that ease of use alone does not guarantee sustainable adoption. Digital services must be supported by literacy, institutional trust, sharia compliance, cybersecurity, professional human resources, and integrated data. In zakat management, fintech is effective when collection channels are connected to payer records, beneficiary targeting, distribution monitoring, and impact reporting. In waqf management, fintech must also preserve the principal asset, disclose project risks, report investment performance, and ensure the continuity of benefits. Blockchain and smart contracts may strengthen traceability and automation, but their value depends on reliable off-chain data and accountable governance. Fintech should therefore be developed as an end-to-end governance infrastructure rather than merely a digital payment instrument.
